Hello/你好/নমস্কার/Hola! I am Indra. My background is in Physics and Applied Mathematics, and I am interested in nonlinear dynamics, computational neuroscience, computational physics, open source, game theory, and quantum computing. I am employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences (SMCS), Massey University with Dr. David Simpson on minimal mathematical models for dynamical systems with abrupt events. I am funded by a Marsden grant from the Royal Society Te Apārangi.
I did my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics also from Massey University, where I looked into piecewise-smooth dynamical systems. I was supervised by Dr. David Simpson and co-supervised by the Distinguished Professor Robert McLachlan . It was also a Marsden grant-funded project.
Prior to joining as a Ph.D. student at Massey University, I had a small stint in a startup Sirpi Products and Services Pvt. Ltd. where I worked as a research lead and the lead of a spatial wind software project called SHEAR whose purpose was to extrapolate wind data based on given anemometer heights. For my Bachelors and Masters, I went to the Department of Physics, Jadavpur University. My specialization was in Condensed Matter Physics.
I maintain a blog, Introductory Football (Soccer) Data Analysis, targeted towards those who want to learn football data analysis with Python. I also maintain an open-source blog where I write about Mathematical Optimization using Python.
